Thank you for your interest in the TAIS Training Program.
The Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS) inventory is used to help people perform under pressure in corporate, sport, and military settings.
Performance depends on the ability to pay attention to the right things at the right times and pressure changes the way we concentrate, make decisions, and interact with others. TAIS measures these critical performance variables, helps elite performers understand the conditions that create pressure, and predicts their responses to pressure.
TAIS applications include:
✓ Performance Enhancement in Corporate, Sport and Military Settings
✓ Leader Development / Executive Coaching
✓ Draft / Transfer Evaluation in Sport
✓ Teaming / Teambuilding
Introduction
The Basic TAIS inventory certification program is a competency-based course designed to teach individuals how to use TAIS inventory to assess performance-relevant psychological strengths and weaknesses or challenges of high-level performers in business, sport, education, and the military. Success in this course is directly tied to the willingness to express your thoughts, ideas, and interpretations of the test information and interpersonal behaviors encountered as individuals move through the material. Feedback about progress is provided via email and through phone conversations. Feedback sessions are designed to be helpful, challenging, thought-provoking and fun.
Course Length
This course is highly customized and typically divided into 6 virtual sessions.
Course Goals
The course will significantly increase awareness of the critical role psychological assessment can play in the development and selection of individuals at every level of competency, including those who possess ultra-high performance capabilities. In order to identify various performance competencies, participants can expect to learn the key psychological markers that are predictive of performance no matter the performance setting. A full understanding of human performance capability that is gained from this course will allow practitioners to carry out a variety of functions in an enhanced manner. Some of those applicable functions include: more effectively designed teaching programs; enhanced training and coaching skills; advanced selection capabilities, etc. It will also provide you with the skills needed to effectively engage in the assessment feedback process in ways that are constructive, educational, thought-provoking and supportive to both clients (if applicable) and individuals.
Prerequisites
Ideally, participants either have completed four years of college/university or have significant work experience in the field of psychology. Courses in any of the following will be of significant help in understanding the presented materials: personality theory; cognitive psychology; statistics; experimental design; psychological measurement; interviewing techniques and stress management.
Please note that many participants have successfully completed the material with little or no applicable background in psychology. Further, your age and overall experience has no bearing on success with this course. Successful participants have ranged from early 20’s to 60’s. One would expect that individuals who are entering the course with a limited applicable background will have to put in extra time in order to complete.
